ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE UP 14,731 ACRES OF OFF ROAD RIDING AREAS FOR GEOTHERMAL WELLS? How about 40,320 acres? Neither are we! So its time to get to work.
Once an area is developed for productive use of geothermal energy the lease allows the lessee use of the resource for 40 years with a right of renewal for another 40 years. Page 1-2, DEIS The foreseeable development described here could occur on any land within the Truckhaven Geothermal Leasing Area, which encompasses 40,320 acres. Page 2-9, DEIS The initial leases are for 14,731 acres if Alternative 3 is chosen but has the potential to become much more! SEE BELOW A majority of the proposed action, 83 percent lies within the Ocotillo Wells SVRA Page 3-8, Paragraph 3.2.4, DEIS If you want your PUBLIC COMMENT to count about the geothermal leasing, you cannot just state "I am against it." That comment will be disregarded.

It is critical that off road enthusiasts send their WRITTEN COMMENTS to the BLM to oppose this project.
