Hi Sherri:
Hate to be a wet blanket, but my gut feeling about the vintage photo (Trivia, May 1999) identified as Roger DeCoster at USGP in 73 was probably in reality DeCoster at Saddleback Trans AMA later the same year. The bike DeCoster rode at Carlsbad in '73 still had non-forwarded mounted rear shocks. I have magazines from '73 to verify the fact.
I intend to contact local state officials about adding the funding for an OHV park in the next state budget. I had a history of volunteer work for the proposed Santee OHV park in the '70s. Hope the San Diego OHV community will get behind the process.

Thank you for the press time and the nice postings in your magazine (LESAR and Letters, April 1999). However, I do take offense to being referred to as living in the other Ocotillo (Ocotillo Wells) as was placed after my name in some sort of typicalgraphical error. Thank you for correcting this minorlymajor mistake.
