DIRECTIONS: This area is located on Tesla/Corral Hollow Road at
18600 Corral Hollow Road, between Tracy and Livermore.
GENERAL INFO: Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area has 1,500
acres, with challenging hill-type trail riding, hillclimbs and
a professionally designed motocross track available. Elevations
are up to 1,800 feet. It is a motorcycle, ATV and (limited) four-wheel
drive area. New additions include a four-wheel drive obstacle
course and an Observed Trials area. Public buildings are wheelchair
accessible.
OPERATING HOURS: The area is open seven days a week from 8 a.m.
to sunset. Day use entrance fee $4/vehicle; camping $6. No reservations.
Summers can peak at 105 degrees, winters are mild with some rain.
The weather can be changeable.
HEBER DUNES SVRA

DIRECTIONS: The park (south of El Centro and I-8) is located eight
miles east of the community of Heber on Heber Road. Access is
via I-8 to State Highway 111 or 86. Hwy 86 becomes Heber Road
where it intersects Hwy 111. Heber Dunes SVRA is bordered by Heber
Road to the north and the Alamo Canal to the south and west. The
new International border crossing into Baja, California, Mexico
is located three miles south of the park
GENERAL INFO: Heber Dunes SVRA is composed of 343 acres of land
that was part of the Imperial County Park System. Restrooms with
showers and camping Ramadas are available. Existing facilities
are scheduled to be refurbished and currently include a concrete-block
restroom, picnic tables, shade ramadas, fire rings and barbecue
stoves. Development of camping or staging areas for those wishing
to travel into Mexico are also planned.
OPERATING HOURS: The park is open 24 hours a day all year. In
the summer temperatures are well over 100 degrees. The months
of Oct through May are the most popular times to visit.
HOLLISTER HILLS SVRA

DIRECTIONS: This area is about six miles south of Hollister at
7800 Cienega Road.
GENERAL INFO: Hollister Hills has 6,627 acres of mixed chaparral,
oak, woodlands and grasslands. Elevations: 800-2600 feet. It is
a motorcycle, four-wheel-drive, ATV and dune buggy use area. (Four-wheel
drive and dune buggy visitors should call ahead as this area can
be closed for special events.) For motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts
Hollister Hills offers 64 miles of trails in addition to motocross,
vintage, TT and mini-bike tracks. For four-wheel drive enthusiasts
this park offers 24 miles of trails and a custom designed obstacle
course.
OPERATING HOURS: Riding is permitted sunrise to sunset. All family
campsites are on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations
accepted. Fees are $4 per vehicle for day use and $6 per campsite.
